The Flor de Sacuanjoche is the national flower of Nicaragua, a variety of the highly fragrant Frangipani or Plumeria rubra, known for its sweet scent and beautiful white/yellow petals that symbolize beauty and love, appearing on Nicaraguan currency and representing national identity since its declaration in 1971. Its name comes from Nahuatl, meaning "beautiful yellow petals flower."
